Audio Visual Services

LOCATION
The Audio Visual Department at the Thomas Library is located on the west side of the building on the second floor. The Hageman Library only has audio visual collections for children and the items are shelved in the Children's area.

DVD's AND VIDEOS
The library has thousands of feature movies for your viewing pleasure. We don't try to compete with commercial video stores by purchasing large numbers of copies of the most recent releases, but we do attempt to develop a broad collection of movies from the past and present. Feature films are shelved alphabetically by title. The library also maintains a nice selection of nonfiction and instructional titles that are shelved according to the Dewey Decimal system.

AUDIO COMPACT DISC
The library's compact discs are among our most popular items. We have popular, classical, folk, holiday, country and jazz music in abundance.

AUDIO BOOKS ON CD
Commuters, vacationers, and many of our other patrons have discovered the joys of listening to our audio books on compact disc. We attempt to collect unabridged editions whenever possible. Titles include both fiction and nonfiction works.

MP3's

Our new MP3 Players circulate just like our other audio visual items and are unabridged recordings of many popular books. We don't circulate headphones or earbuds with the players for sanitary reasons, borrowers must provide their own. Batteries are included!

RESERVES AND RENEWALS

Our audio materials (compact discs) can be reserved and held for you. Videos are only available on a first-come first serve basis and may not be renewed.

SPECIAL LOANS
Going on vacation? Ask about an extended loan for those audio items. We will also hold items for a reasonable amount of time for teachers.

DOWNLOAD AUDIO BOOKS

The library subscribes to a service offered by NetLibrary that allows our resident patrons to select from over 2,100 audio books and to download the files to their home computer. It may also be possible for a patron to transfer the files to a portable MP3 player if the device is compatible
