The Friends of the Library are dedicated volunteers who raise funds to support the mission, programs, and services of Westchester Public Library. They are library champions, volunteering their time to prepare books and other items for semi-annual book sales.
Book sales contain thousands of gently used and new donated items at bargain prices. You’ll find books for all ages, movies, children’s toys, music, magazines, audiobooks, and, occasionally, special items up for bid. The last day of each book sale offers a $3 per bag deal, making it easy to stock up on books and other items for yourself or to give as gifts.
Friends of the Library annual memberships are $5 for individuals and $10 for families, and membership allows special access to the Friends-Only Preview Night before each sale. The use of electronic scanning devices on items in book sales is prohibited at all times.
Donations of items for Book Sales may be brought to the collection box inside the front doors of the Thomas Branch. Friends of the Library and Library staff are not permitted to estimate values of donated items, but donors are provided, upon request, written acknowledgement of the type and number of items donated.
